College History

Sarvodaya College of Education is a rural area college situated in Virajpet Taluk, Kodagu(Coorg) District, this place is 1km away from Virajpet town. It was established in 1973 and was managed by Prof.B.V.Ramana Sir, this college is affiliated to Mangalore University this college is 47years old and caters to the learning needs of the rural students in and around the town. The College gives exposure to students not only in curricular activities but also in extracurricular and co-curricular activities enrich with experienced and devoted faculty members. The college considered a resource center and render selfless service to society. The management is magnanimous enough to extend wholehearted support to Endeavour’s of the faculty in getting grant-in-aid to our college in the year 2009.

Sarvodaya College of Educations was established in 1973. Sarvodaya College of Educations is a Grant-in-Aid institution recognized by N.C.T.E. and affiliated to Mangalore University. Our college has got permanent affiliation, order number: ED55STD73-74 Dated 22nd October 1973. The College caters to pre-service training of Secondary School Teachers. The College is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore, the College is affiliated to Mangalore University.

Infrastructure OverView

The college offers modern infrastructure facilities to students. The college encourages the students to have participated in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities to have exposure and experience that can guide their professional carrier in the best possible manner. College gives opportunities for the students to exhibit their hidden talents by organizing cultural activities like celebration of international days( international women's day, human rights day, an international day of peace and world environmental day) cultural day in a week and other competitions.

GST Awareness Program

Goods and Service Tax (GST) play a prominent place in one’s life. Hence awareness about GST was given to the trainees of our college on 06/10/2017. Mr. S. Venkatesh, Superintendent of Central Tax GST of Mysore Spoke on the significance of GST he stressed the need for it and brought awareness among the trainees about consumer goods and its MRP prices. Dr. Syeeda Shanavaz, Principal, and other staff were present in the program. The Students clarified many of their confusions and doubts regarding Goods and Service Taxes. The social Science club of the college arranged the program.

The teaching staff,non-teaching staff, and the management are very supportive in nature which helped me in securing 7th rank to Mangalore university.
